Waterfalls from Bongnaesan Mountain fall directly into the ocean, creating seafoam. It is this phenomenon that gives Huinnyeoul its name, which translates approximately to “white ocean foam.” Huinnyeoul has another name as well: Isongdo, which means ”Second Songdo Island.” For those familiar with Songdo’s beauty, it’s not surprising that Huinnyeoul’s picturesque scenery gained popularity with film makers as a set backdrop, causing it to be reborn as a culture village.
However, Huinnyeoul’s stories extend further back in time than the age of movies and television. Shall we listen to some of those stories together?
